What was founded as a satellite city in the year 1971 – to take off the population pressure from Mumbai – has today become an important residential, corporate and tourist hub – Navi Mumbai. This city has developed manifold in the last few years and is currently the hottest place in terms of development.

Sagar Vihar Lake, Vashi: A famous picnic spot for Navi Mumbaikars, the Sagar Vihar Lake faces the picturesque Thane creek. Located right in the heart of the city, Sagar Vihar is the best place for visitors to relax and unwind while enjoying the view of the Thane Creek and the lovely flowers.

Mini Seashore, Vashi: Come summer and Mini Seashore is on everybody’s mind. The seashore is not much than a strip of land, developed and maintained by the Municipal Corporation. This seashore, facing the creek, is separated from it by a large holding pond, encircled by a two-kilometer promenade that is used as a jogging/walking track by many. Various attractions like paddle boats, horse rides, amusement rides, refreshments etc. are also available here.

Nerul Balaji temple: This is a major landmark in Nerul. The Balaji Temple of Nerul is an exact replica of the Balaji Temple, Tirupati. This temple attracts thousands of devotees and tourists and houses many deities. A Navagraha temple is located right opposite to this temple, along with a Gurudwara and Jain temple in close proximity.

Pandavkhada Waterfalls, Kharghar: Legend has it that the Pandavas, during their exile, bathed under the Pandavkhada Waterfalls, and that is how it got its name. This popular waterfall is about 350 meters high and attracts revelers from all over the city, looking for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The region also holds Buddhist caves, which is another reason that makes this spot a must visit.

Utsav Chowk, Kharghar: Located in the heart of Kharghar, the Utsav Chowk is an architectural sight. Built in the Greek-Roman style, this Chowk has a fountain, surrounded by garden and open spaces. It is a popular spot for walking and jogging during early mornings.
