Shah Rukh Khan to grace a Durga Puja pandal in Vashi, Navi Mumbai

News published in the Times of India  dated 8 October has confirmed a starry presence for the upcoming Navratri festival in Navi Mumbai. Mixing culture and entertainment, the pandals in the city of the 21st Century has lined up an interesting fusion of events from October 20 – 24. 

For the first time, the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, may perform at the Sarvajanik Vashi Durga Puja.

Confirming the news, Asit Ghosh, president of the Bengal Trust, said that the association has set aside Rs 5 crore as the budget for this year. Rs 2 crore will be Khan’s fees for a one-hour show, said the president.

Besides the Badshah of Bollywood, other stars who are scheduled to perform through the festive week are Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Poornima (Sushma Shreshtha) and Somlata Acharya.

This is not it, the art director of Slumdog Millionaire, Abhishek Redkar, has designed an eco-friendly set resembling Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s house for the idol, confirmed the spokesperson Prasoon Rakshit.
